Stone Quarry

This equipment at this stone quarry is washed by a 4 GPM pressure washer. The client wanted a fully automated wash rack water recycle system to be able to recycle the wash water with low maintenance. A wash pad was constructed and the water treatment unit, a Moonstone Model MS 5-8BF, was designed and engineered to fit in an existing room with limited space. The equipment to be washed is given an initial rinse on a separate wash pad for coarse debris removal and then driven over to the final cleaning wash pad. The wash rack water recycle system is activated by a float in the catch basin. Water is transferred to the unit and cleaned using a reactive separating agent to remove contaminants from the water allowing the wash water to be recycled for a closed-loop system.

Auto Parts

The objective was to clean up to 5,000 gpm of wash water from the parts washer and be in compliance to go to sanitary sewer. The system consists of a
5,000-gallon poly tank for equalization, a 5 GPM mix/reaction tank, a collection tank and 5 cu.ft.filter press for solids removal. This system is controlled by a PLC for reliability and easy maintenance. This system was custom designed to fit into a small area, conserving valuable floor space.

Pressure Washer

A portable system was required to service 3 school bus wash locations. A unit was designed to fit on a trailer. This unit was to be able to clean up to 5 GPM of wash water and store the water for re-use when required. Solids are removed by a self-indexing filter bed and dispensed into a 55-gallon drum. Solids from treatment are non-hazardous and the cleaned water is recycled to the pressure washer. Water to be cleaned is drawn from a catch basin in each location.

Sand Paper

The objective at this facility was to be able to treat this difficult waste stream and discharge to the sanitary sewer. A custom, 5 GPM fully automated system had to be engineered to detactify the waste stream and promote separation as well as reduce phenol levels to meet acceptable discharge levels to the local POTW to avoid surcharges and/or fines. Fabricated from 304 stainless steel, this system has a triple mix chamber with 2 feed hoppers for the addition of 2 reactants to the waste stream. Solids are separated by a self-indexing filter bed and the filtrate enters a collection tank before going to the sewer.

Truck Maintenance

Discharging wash rack wash water was not an option at this facility. A 2 GPM hot/cold pressure washer is being used for washing, degreasing, and rinsing of various vehicles at this site. A fully automated 2 GPM system was installed. Reactant is added automatically by a feed hopper to separate out the contaminants from the wash water. Solids from cleaning are separated out by a self-indexing filter bed. The clean water to be re-used is stored in an integral collection tank and connected to the pressure washer.
